The “heart” of the “Series 2TW”
The “heart” of the “Series 2TW” is made up by two electrochemical modules, each formed by two stacks (integrated with their relevant ancilliaries) coupled according to the original TWINSTACK ® configuration.
In parallel with the Fisrt Of A Kind power plant, some other demonstrators are under construction, each aimed at a different market segment and fed by a different fuel.
Key features of the TWINSTACK ® configuration are:
- Fuel flexibility, thanks to a Modular Integrated Reformer, able to use the stack waste heat and to be “customized” to the selected fuel.
- Possible integration with a microturbine in a hybrid configuration, with a further increase in efficiency.
- Compactness
- Standardization of stack components, allowing to benefit of scale effect even with relatively low production volumes
